Joe  Palermo

I started going to the mountains with my parents as a child, first to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and then to the Sierras when we moved to California. My appreciation for the outdoors was imbedded in me at an early age. Just being there was a pleasure. My first photo experience was in High School. I got to use a 4x5 view camera and develop film in the dark room. My first grown up camera was a Nikon F. My trips to the outdoors were not in search of photos, but just to be there camping, hiking, fishing, skiing, and exploring. The camera was along to document the trip and that's how it's always been. After the Nikon I moved up to a Bronica 6x6 camera with Nikkor lenses. Than came the 4x5, to big to carry around as a documentation...
